Door Bell Button lite is out

Do any of you know if there is a way to repair or install a new light in a door bell button without having to replace with a new button? It appears that the light only lasts for a couple years then burns out. Thanks for your help.

Anything can be done...Depending on how anal you are about getting it done.

I've seen some of the little round white "snap in" illuminated doorbell pushbttons that allow you to pull out the button and remove and replace a "grain of wheat" incandescent bulb which has it's leads plugged into a couple of tiny socket contacts in the switch assembly. Finding a place to buy the right size/voltage bulb might be a challenge these days though.

They've been making LED illuminated door bell buttons for at least 20 years now. I'd suggest you do whatever it takes to replace the push button part of yours with an LED one. I've got a pair of red LED pushbuttons which came with my Sears garage door openers 19 years ago and they're still going strong. By now I'm sure they have "white" ones available too.

Just ask or Google around...

Good luck,

Jeff

The bulb in lighted buttons I have seen can be replaced and replacements are available usually in the same place that you can buy the buttons.
