Autobody Damage

Don't know if this is appropriate for this group, but how do I repair a

3-week old auto body scrape about an inch long which is rusting?

Thanks

Sand (w/ wet/dry paper) to bare metal; prime and use touchup paint kit.

Are you sure it's rusting? Primer is often rust colored and galvanizing usually keeps from rusting. You may need body filler but most important is getting paint to match.

Just how wide is this "scrape" - 1/8 - 2" ? A narrow scrape one inch long can be protected with a touch up kit. Small jar, like nail polish dab or stroke it on. It works well for rock dings.

If you still have a car dealer, they would have the closest color match.
