How is it that ants are coming out of a shower drain? Is there a hole in the drain pipe possibly?

Possibly the air vent? Or crawling all the way from the kitchen sink drain?
Ya think they would swim through the trap..lol.... I bet you are just seeing them crawl out and not in. Get some good Ant killer.

once in a while i spill some javex down all the drains. smells nice and disinfects inside. probably kills any little bugs in there too. ....thehick
