A $58 sweatshirt doesn't seem that high to me. I recently paid $38 for a pair of pajama pants for my husband at the big and tall shop. He wasn't feeling well and wanted something loose and comfy. The price seemed worth it to me.

The last field trip scam I remember was 8th grade. We sold candy iirc, maybe cookies. Come graduation time the teachers banded together and refused to take us anyplace. They divided up the money we raised and gave back equal portions. We weren't really that bad except for a few minor incidents.

I remember the NHS induction ceremony. Sort of. I had a pint of Beam in my locker and fortified myself for the ordeal. I was a dark horse and showed little academic achievement until the SAT, NYS Regents Scholarship, and National Merit scores came back.
