Gas Hydronic Heating – Good or Bad?

Oct 12, 2015 1 Replies

I'm in New York and soon I’ll start renovating my house. To bring in a few major modifications, I’m planning to use gas hydronic heating. But before making a final decision, I’d want you guys to help me in my decision. Please share your experience about its efficiency, cost, and sustainability. Your experience would help me a lot.

Gas as in natural gas? If you plan on setting up a hydronic heating system to run through a natural gas boiler, then you are making a smart decision. Natural gas costs are inexpensive in the New York area, and if done right your system should be operating smoothly. My only suggestions is to make sure the installation is done properly by professionals, and that if you are installing a new boiler, to pick one with an energy star rating and a high efficiency. The installation costs might be high, but it is well worth it, considering the system can run for well over 20 years.
