Sealant Question

Dec 30, 2008 1 Replies

Can anyone recommend a sealant for the gap between wooden window sill and the wooden frame of a window? The sealant that is there at present is cracking and shrinking badly.

Thanks

Mike

The external sill should be tongued and glued into the frame. If a gap has opened up the proper way to repair would be to remove the sill and re-fix. If you can't do this I would think about using a SW or HW quadrant strip fixed over the gap with No Nails or even a semi ridgid sealant Perhaps like the Bostick one.
