After 2 years of use has given up. Anyone any ideas as to why hot water goes hot to cold intermittently.
Also central heating initially does the same. Fires up then shuts down after
20 odd seconds and then fires up again and then eventually it stays on.

I would try the Central Heating thermister, Green plug with two wires coming from it (these maybe yellow, depending on age of boiler), it should be just above the white control box. You will need to drain the boiler. This thermister also acts as a high limit stat so if it is faulty it shuts the boiler down, it can fail at low temp as it assumes the boiler is too hot. If you dont fancy draing the boiler, you may get a surface mounted thermister which clamps around the pipe, from Ravenheat. Just leave the old one where it is.
