structural rehab of old non engineered buildings

Oct 26, 2006 2 Replies

Dear people ,i am an architect and doing research on the said topic. i have done corrections to some faulty constructions in past esp steel structures.i have strenghtened some old buildings and provided remedies. Of late,i have developed further interest in remedial architecture and rehab.of old buildings .In future, i intend to publish a Do-it-yourself kit in rehab / remedial therapy to sick / aged worn-out buildings as it could be useful to masses. Could i seek your valuable observations/experiences in this effort to widen my horizon on the related field? Dhiraj,New Delhi

See if you can get a copy of the International Existing Building Code (IEBC). That is the current building code standard in the US for rehab of existing buildings.
