BAR PLAN HELP...

Hi guys I am fairly new to the whole woodworking seen and have a couple fairly simple questions. Number one is for using pocket holes on a home bar made with Oak Vaneer how far from the edge do you place the hole typically? Also I went to Kent and they have "Good one side" Oak and Birch, but the plans say "Oak Vaneer" what is the difference?

The ones at Kent do not have like a finished side and would have to be stained I think, does vaneered mean its already stained? If so they do not carry it. Also can I use Birch instead as the Oak is 20 bucks more than the Birch. Below is the link to the bar I want to build and the Pocket Jig I can afford, will that work fine for this plan?

Veneered means a thin sheet as in plywood. You should be looking for A-1, the face will be rotary sliced one piece and the backside will be multiples of sliced prices. It will not be stained.

Sure it will work, just take your time and think before you cut.
