Wylex Cu

Hi all,

I have a Wylex CU which is probably 15-20 years old, 100A capacity. Does anybody know if current Wylex MCBs will fit e.g.

? The current MCBs are all NN i.e. NN30, NN15 models. The CU model number is NN916.

I need to swap a 15A for a 32A. Yes, I know I could try and call Wylex but this has a bearing on wiring that I'm doing now, and I thought someone here might know the answer.

AIUI, the plug in MCBs that you linked to are specifically designed to act as replacements for the traditional rewireable fuse carriers of the older wylex CUs. I have only ever come accross one design of this type so I woud expect the plug in MCBs would fit all older wylex CUs.

(Wylex obviously also make DIN rail mounting MCBs for newer CUs as well).

Thanks for the info.

That is a DIN rail mounting one by the looks of it. It won't fit a CU with plug in rewireable fuses.

I got some recently from TLC to replace the rewirable fuses in a 25 year old wylex. They worked fine in it. They should cone with a replacement base to replace the rewirable fuse base, as the pin spacings are different to prevent inadvdrtent swapping of differently rated devices.

I think the OP found what he wanted:-)

I nearly got caught by that too, the original message stated it was a Wylex NN range CU, with MCBs:-)
