Any one had any experience or preference for roofing shingles? I have the option of IKO Armourshield or Katepal.
IKO are more expensive, are they worth the extra cost?
Ta peeps,
Steve

I'm prejudiced, use slates or tiles.
+1 my local council went all eco bollox and built a visitor centre in a local park and used wooden singles for roofing/cladding. A year or so later it looks s**te!
Look nice when new but soon go a grey colour and don't last long in the English climate. They start to split up the middle and slide out.

Back in 2010 I posted quite a bit here about my son's summerhouse roof, which was leaking badly.
We thought about paint and various other coverings, but without talking to me he decided to nail a shingle roof over the top. In 2013.
I was sent to collect the shingles, stainless nails etc. in my role of unpaid assistant.
When it was first done it looked a bit out of place, but it has now matured to a colour that fits in well with the surroundings. The shingles still look sound.

No, and it has survived storms in which No2 summerhouse (the house came with 3) was blown off its concrete fence post base.
No idea.
Depends where you are. Shingles are common round (Black Forest) here - although more often on the walls than the roof. (Traditional roofs are pantiles - *very* traditional roofs are thatch.)
I regularly pick up from Birmingham airport. If the flight is delayed or I'm early I wait in the free car park just beyond the railway station. Its only a minute drive then to the airport pick up area which will cost you a quid!

Huh?

Oh good. It's not just me then!
(I suspect Mr Rogers meant to reply to a different message - quite possibly in a different group.)
