They upheld a complaint from me. It took 9 months (I'd completely forgotten about it by then). The telco couldn't trace the service provider so nothing was reclaimed. (Fines should be levied on the telco in this case IMO.)

I am personally in favour of them having access to the death penalty, > but some may think that excessive.

They need to be able to act within 24 hours, not 9 months.

The last spammer I reported;

- was fined £1000.

- the premium rate line I complained about was closed.

- had to clear all premium rate schemes in advance for a year.

Seems good enough to me.

Yes, especially if simple removal of limbs and red hot pokers in the eyes and other orifices were an option

I saw a play some years ago, in the Traverse in Edinburgh. An executioner was musing on the operational difficulties (complicated ropes and suspension) required to administer a particular punishment - one drop of hot pitch in EVERY bodily orifice - order at his discretion...

Sounds a good starting point...
