Is it true that if a building has stood for more than fours that it does`nt need planning consent

If you mean after four years acn the planning authority take action then in most cases no but there are exceptions.

Take it from me, this is seriously *not* a good method of getting planning consent. Go to the local planning office and talk to them, they usually have a help desk and/or a website you can consult.
