I can't really see why a Centrifugal fan is going to be any better. The specs give the data you need to make comparisons.
Axial fans don't work well down a long exhaust vent, because the air in the vent tends to rotate.
You probably have, in a shorter version.
Low pressure axial fan
hi, well it seems like i need a decent centrifugal fan to help the problem as the ducting is about 4metres long and i dont think the axial fan is sending the air down with enough force. i would like to buy on ebay as i have paypal funds and just wondered whether any of these would be ok as i'm not that sure what i'm looking for. the current fan runs off a red and black wire and powers on when the light is switched on. i'm not sure if its low voltage but i doubt it as it only a cheapy fan (greenwood airvac ax100-b) cheapest one but unbranded?
hi just wondered if anyone knows if this fan is any good it seems quite cheap, do you get what you pay for , should i be paying more?
This is Axial
how do you know - from the picture?
bad advertising then as it states centrifugal? no wonder its cheap?
erm do you think this ones the one to go for then:
See this
Sorry - its appearance makes it appear to be an axial fan - the air being pulled by a propeller device on a shaft driven by a motor - the air moves in line with the axis of the motor.
Centrifugal - the air is flung outwards by a vaned impellor therefore it is travelling at right angles to the axis of the motor and needs a duct arrangement to manage the direction of the air into a duct.
