99.9% of people with dogs will let those dogs stop when they want to. It doesn't matter that many of them clean it up.
By the way, the correct answer was "It doesn't matter why I don't want your dog stopping here". Civil trespass, in other words.

Better: Follow them around the neighborhood, about 50 steps behind. Stop when they stop, walk when they walk. Very strange. :-)

99.9% of RUDE dog owners do that. There is no way to clean up the dog urine, or to stop it from leaving a nasty brown spot on the lawn of another. These dog owners don't want it in their own yard, that's why they walk them to other yards. I have a specified place in my back yard for my dog to do her business, and she goes to the dog park to run around daily, rain or shine. I know some cities don't have parks, but luckily we do.

We have no official dog parks, but we have a park which used to be beautiful, but is now ruined by dogs. Great place for people with coprophilia, though.

Well, Oren. The lady at Animal Control called this morning. Of course, we had left about ten messages over the past few days. She said she would send someone out.
We came home this afternoon, and saw a yellow tag on the door of the offender's house. I walked over and looked. It was from animal control, but it was for not having a shelter for the dog. They just left it in the back yard, and have been gone now for four or five days. Temps in the lower thirties.
Commissioner Reid's office sent me an e mail stating that I could request it go to Neighborhood Justice Mediation, which I did. They also stated that I must have two signed corroborating witnesses to take it to the DA's office.
I have ordered a ultrasonic generator from the LRAD units. I am going to use just one, because I don't want to kill the dogs or make humans sick. A full LRAD array will do that. Next time I hear these bonehead dogs wailing, I'll give them something to really wail about.
We are in the process of moving to Southern Utah. I've had it with Las Vegas. Lived here since 1952, and the place has gone to the dogs. Or, in current lingo ........... a los perros.
We'll be out of here in three months. And where we are moving, if a dog is roaming, and is a PITA, you just take care of it any way you want.
If it wouldn't get me in a bushel of bullshit, I'd rather just go over and "talk nicely" to the man once they get home. But I'm sure that anyone who would leave their dog out for a week in wintertime with no shelter must be some kind of nut, and it's been a long time since I've had to shoot anyone.

So why expensive stuff you will not use in UT? Beware my neighbor will be taking his 180 lb. rots up there.

Stay away....the complaint is in .......
But if you need to turn up the fire, by all means.

In most places you don't own the first 10 feet from the road so you can't file tresspassing charges but there are "clean up after your dog" laws that may apply. Stray dogs are as bad as stray cats. Folks don't like digging up cat shit in their potted plants either.

Actually, you *do* own it. The town and the utilities have permanent easements for that strip, but all normal property laws apply, including civil trespass. Ask your lawyer. I got this from our town justice, who instructed two police supervisors who had the same misinformation you do.

I guess it is a local thing then but I can guarantee you that if you look at the plat of my Florida yard on the tax map the property line is 10 feet back from the road. It was in Md too. They not only do that for utility easements but also so they can widen a road without having to buy out hundreds of owners. It is grass now and I am still expected to maintain it but I can't have a car parked there towed away if it has tags on it.

Horsefeathers The creins sometimes carry bags with which they ineffectively attempt to clean feces. Never in 4 years of watching these imbeciles parade in front of my house have I eve seen any attempt to clean up or nutralixze dog urine. And the damn urine kills plants and lawn.
I am frequently sorely tempted to walk up to an owner who's dog has just squirted on my grass, carrying a BB gun, and inquire of them were they going to lick it up or should I just train th dog to piss elsewhere.

That would get you shot with a real gun around here ... and the homeowner would get away with it if your BB gun looked remotely like a firearm. Already happened, no charges filed.

I'll go you one better. Buy the best KillAll herbicide you can find. Put it in a spray pump can FULL STRENGTH. Go put on your blue Dickies pants and shirt with a white cap. Add false mustache and silver grasshopper eyes twentysomething shades.
Walk up to target's nice manicured yard, as any good pest control person would do.
Write what you want in their lawn, but pausing to appear to squirt pesticide here and there.
It leaves a lasting impression. In some cases, up to a year.

Mister; walk towards me with a BB gun, at a minimum I will take it away from you and whip that ass with the stock end. Maximum - you get shot.
Don't take a knife to a gun fight.

I believe it would be a good punishment in the US for certain things, like bonehead pet owners, graffiti sprayers, etc.
