Cantilever Eave Over Doorway

I want to build an eave over a small porch or landing outside the back door. I'd like to make it without posts or support pillars. Its on the gable end of the house so there is no existing roof line to work off of. I'd like to make it 8' wide and 4' wide. I'm on Long Island so snow loading is an issue. I don't want to tear up any flooring to be able to sister joists a long way back. About all I can do is take off the sheathing, and see how far I can reach.

Can I cantilever out this far without support?

The plan would be to build a small hip roof over it. Also, what is typical for roof sloping on an eave?

Who can say without seeing the house, you need alot of support, What is framing, house construction, frame wood size, spacing. You do mean 8 ft long x 4 wide , right. Get someone out to look. Might be better to hire it out. And get a book
