what is the name of these threaded fittings?

I have only seen them used in kit furniture, never the good stuff. The outside diameter is about 15 mm and has a coarse thread that screws into a hole in the wood. In the centre is an internal thread of about 5-6 mm into which a small bolt is screwed.
