Plywood Question

Hi, Does plywood (6mm) expand or contract, or stay roughly the size when it's been varnished. It may sound like a dumb question, but I'm a novice and thought it may be important to bear in mind before gluing. The sheet is roughly 100cm x

70cm.

All wood expands and contracts, but plywood remains remarkably stable because of the criss-crossing of the plys. Basically, they cancel each other out, at least to the extent that your vision (or tape measure) will be able to detect. Not likely that you'll see expansion from varnishing, but ideally, you should be sealing both sides of the plywood to make it the most stable.
