Unicorn splitter. There may have been a case where someone had an arm torn off using one of these.

I like the unicorn idea. That's pretty darn efficient and relatively safe. That redneck contraption is downright insane.

similarities to steel mill equipment I helped design that would "Face" (Square off end of pipe), "profile" (Cut tapered profile on end of pipe,) and "Thread" (Exactly that) pipe for oil field service.

The whole process was totally automated which was late '50s time frame.
