Gloat

Had a milestone birthday yesterday. Got a shoebox sized gift from swmbo, tear off the paper... Oh Baby, it's a L-N box!!! ohboyohboyohboy.

A brand spanky new L-N Low Angle Jack. Life is good, even at 40.

Immediately took the plane out to the shop, mounted a piece of mahogany in the new bench (pictures forthcoming) and proceded to take silky smooth

2/1000" shavings off it right outta the box, no honing, no adjusting, no nothin. And this was on ribbon-stripe, reversing grain mahogany to boot. Did I mention that life is good?

Oh btw, I'm not gloating about the plane, I'm gloating about my wife.

I dunno - telling about the LN would be a gloat, but I'm afraid the wife would have to be a neener.

Happy birthday and congratulations, especially for making good choices.

just have to keep the L-N catalogs lying around with planes circled! ;-)

I'm incredibly happy for you Joe. However, as I understand it, a gloat is only if you get a good deal on a tool or wood? Well, not paying for a top of the line tool is a pretty good deal Or do I misunderstand the broad definition of the gloat?

If I've misunderstood, you suck!
