There have been questions in the past re how to get overall dimensions from a photo re which only a few overall dimensions are given:
There's a good article in Fine WoodWorking, June 2004, page 59, dealing with just that.
The author uses a real big drawing board to locate vanishing points, which can be far away from the picture itself. A basic drawing program would be great for this.
