Dust collector for Unisaw

Dec 13, 2004 1 Replies

Anyone know a source for plane for shop-built dust collector adaptor for a 15-year-old Unisaw? Thought I saw plans in a woodworking magazine once but am coming up with zilch on Google searches.

Thanks.

Joe

Close off that useless slot in the bottom, seal up the holes and the tilted bottom shelf within the cabinet. Then cut a hole to match the dust collection hose pickup.

My unisaw was almost as old. It will take a really big collector and large hose to make a difference. I enlarged mine from 4" to 5", then went to a different saw for other reasons. The pickup with a great cyclone is OK at best anyway. Unisaws and their clones are not designed for good dust pickup; but for heavy duty accurate cutting year after year.

Don't be afraid to cut a hole in the back: it's a tool after all.
