A Learning experience

Last week I went out to the shop and found the air compressor running, hot and smelly. The pop-off valve spring had broken and air was blasting out through it. Took the valve to our local auto parts dealer and they had me another in 24 hours. Now I turn it off when leaving the shop if I can remember it. No apparent permanent damage done.
