I'm hoping there are some Worcester boiler experts lurking here!
In the process of cleaning and flushing my heating system, I believe I have introduced an air lock. I drained and refilled of course, but the problem remains. Hopefully it is not a hard blockage. The magnaclean filter was the cleanest it's ever been when inspected, with minimal deposits collected.
All radiators bleed fine, but coaxing the heating into life, it sounds like the pump is cavitating and the heated water does not progress to the rads.
I've tried running the pump at speed 3 and switching flow routes through upstairs and downstairs heating and hot water zone valves all to no avail.
So I am now looking at the boiler as possibly having an air lock across it.
The instruction manual shows what looks like a drain c*ck attached to the heat exchanger with a square on top to open the vent valve. A rubber tube takes the discharge from this valve (that all makes sense).
On my boiler there is no vent valve as such, the tube is just pushed onto what looks like a hexagon nipple.
I would guess that it is simply a matter of undoing that hexagon nipple to allow air/water to pass.
However, there are stern warnings about avoiding water splash to internals (understandably) and I WILL NOT GUESS at anything related to boiler work.
Has anyone worked on the W-B 24Ri that can advise please?
