As a rule it's not unknown for outgoing governments who know they're not going to be re-elected to make decisions on capital projects like nuclear power generation. But for some reason this government are only making noises and no major commitment.

However, people like you are the main reason why we will continue to burn fossil fuels rather than cheap, clean and safe Nuclear Power.

You have a choice, save the planet or advocate the burning of fossil fuels instead of nuclear.

Ours is read daily over the air. I can log in and get my usage to date along with charges and estimated for the month.

I think it's partly genetic. Some people didn't evolve with ice cream and cheesecake and giant cheezy pizzas. Africans and Pacific Islanders tend to blimp out on a junk-food diet.

And deregulation is preceded by intense lobbying by whatever industry is being regulated with the theme of "We won't do all those stupid things that led to the last blowup and got us regulated.", stated with their fingers crossed. The mean time to disaster seems to be decreasing.

I'm not a fan of government regulation and would like to see government drowned in a tea cup. Philosophically that makes me an anarchist. Then reality kicks in. For the most part individuals and corporations make very bad choices.

When I was in a rehab facility attached to a nursing home I was asked if I had any problem with dogs since they had one that visited periodically. I never met the dog; it may have been more for the long term residents.

I had a cat living with me last year who would follow me to the mailbox. He'd make side trips to investigate things of interest but would catch up eventually.

Crop rotation to fix nitrogen (usually using alfalfa) has been widely practiced for a hundred years.

Note, however, that the crops (alfalfa and clover) are not directly used to feed humans, and thus aren't as profitable for the modern industrial farms (the family farm is gone) as crops such as corn (animal feeds, corn starch, corn sugers and alcohol). A modern farm that tried using crop rotation instead of anhydrous would quickly be bankrupt.

That was a comment on my claim that bacteria is not needed for fixing nitrogen with green manure crops.
