I've heard of gale force units, but the big problem with wind is that locally it can be far worse than just a few yards away. Turbulence if thhe enemy went wind speeds get over a certain point. Here according to those with the kit, the strongest gust yesterday, around midday was 71MPh. Does not sound bad, but the blustery nature and sudden change of direction is the killer. Brian

Pity you cannot see because the roof of that football stadium in North London floating up and down like a mexican wave was quite interesting.
