Whitening yellowed plastic

Is there anything that will restore plastic panels (as on washing machines etc) that have yellowed due to long exposure to the sun?

TIA

Is there nothing that'll "bleach" it white again? (I've actually tried bleach and it doesn't seem to work). Don't fancy painting it.

A possibility is car polish (or TCut for a more severe job). It works well on the plastic (red) panels on the car that fade in the sun. They will take a (minute) layer off the surface.

One of the UPVC window cleaners may also do the job.

How olds the item? have you considered new replacement plastics?

They will, when they have to juggle with settings, because the T-cut will wipe the markings off. :-)

And can be as effective as paint stripper on most non-cellulose based paints. Have Fun.
