Depends how I delete them - each mounted volume has a .Trash-1000,used if you simply hit the delete key, with some sort of crap in it, but mostly I right click and delete them completely,. I mean when I want to delete them I want to - er - delete them!

BUT its a function not of Linux per se but the 'file explorer' in use.

same with windows, it's an explorer feature, if you delete from a "DOS" window, or from a script or your own .exe it won't get recycled.

right click delete in whatever this uses... Caja? Shift delete works on the desktop...oh it works inside caja too.

Oh there is something called trash:/// that's just got some files deleted the 'wrong way' in it. but they are just files. No special names. It seems to be only mounted volumes that have the .Trash-1000 directories..
