What does "not blank" mean (wood turning)

Just wondered what this "not blank" means?

'm fairly sure this means it's a lump of timber as it was cut from the tree. IE unprepared. A blank is normally a piece of wood that can be mounted on the lathe with little, or no, preparation. HTH Good luck Nick.

I think it's just so that anyone searching for "turning blank" finds it, and might be interested. "Not X" is a common technique on Ebay.
