Wardrobe hanging rail

Hi. I'm looking for hanging rail about 1.1m span. I don't want to use a centre support. I've looked for sources but can only find ebay sellers. Anyone know where I can find it?

Thanks.

I reckon a 1100mm span is pushing your luck without a centre support.

Not so much bending, but the flexing can cause the end(s) to slip out of the fittings. Self tapper sorted mine.

Both B&Q and Wickes (cheaper) sell a good range of chromed tubing and supports for just this sort of thing. The 25mm dia size should be OK; the next size down is 19mm which will probably flex in the middle if used without a centre support.

Hope this helps

Might be better off with that 'flattened' hanging rail - tends to be about 1" deep and .5" wide - my impression is (and logic suggests) that it is more resistant to bending under load. Don't know any specific suppliers though.

either end supports or if really worried about it falling off use 2 centre supports near ends.

I've used this over greater than 1m with no problems.

I couldn't find 25mm in B&Q when I was looking a couple of years ago so used their 19mm on a 1.35m unsupported span. I was sure is would sag so put a 16mm mild steel rod down the middle for extra support. Sag when fully laden is 5mm. Got the steel rod for a couple of quid from a steel stockholder.
