Venting through roof

I was bemoaning that I don't have a decent wall where I can exhaust a bathroom extractor. - Currently I have a in-line fan venting out just under the eaves. The roof is "pyramid shaped". I would like to change to a larger fan and someone suggested going out through the roof tiles.

Concerned about disturbing a watertight roof. Any experiences? Best outlets ?

The first thing that springs to mind is that you will need insulated ducting or risk condensation running back down the ducting.

And sit down before looking at the price of a vent tile.

Can't say I've noticed but it's ceratinly a possibilty.

Bit of a PITA to fit as the slate positions didn't neatly fall between the rafters. And getting the sarking to be neat around the spigot was messy. Given our exposed location I bought a 12" square bit of soft rubber sheet, cut hole in middle just smaller than the spigot and tucked that below/above the sarking to provide a perfect wind (powder snow...) and waterproof seal.
