It’s mostly been done for you, in the replies to your OP, and they say in different words that the old EV as a battery bank is a non-starter due to far better technology being available for stand-alone batteries and at lower cost, and that the overall economics are at best doubtful, especially when investment losses are taken into account. If you need cheap transport, buy a good but unfashionable used ICE vehicle.

It started to come as an official feature in around 2022. Starting point might be the list here, you'll have to DYOR for what's officially supported on each vehicle:

There were a pair of 3.5kW chargers at my local Sainsbury's, but they got decommissioned a few years ago.

Same here; the area is shut off and the windows blanked out - it’s not used at all. A waste of space.

I did eat there once, but the quality of the service and the food was such I never used it again.

Low power chargers like that are fine if you can leave the car charging for a day, but hardly appropriate in a supermarket car park.

Its extraordinary but I can only think of four petrol stations still operating in Cambridge - one at the junction of Barton road and the fen causeway. Another on the Elizabeth way bridge., There is the one in Girton but you are likely to get your card skimmed there. And Sainsbury's up the arse end of Coldham's lane.

I've got as many as that in Newmarket. My friend tends to drive to Bar Hill.

I have to say it was around £1.50 for diesel last time I filled up.

But there is as likely to be electricity rationing as fuel anyway, since we rely on gas for that.

No forecourts closed or with queues here (actually queues for the car wash instead) the only thing I've noticed is super-unleaded pumps have "out of action" signs on them.

Blimey, even petrol is more than that now. Diesel seems to be up to about £1.95 in Sussex (away from major A roads)

Don't forget to add on the extra cost of insuring your EV compared to an ICE vehicle (and zero for a battery pack, assuming that you don't get stung for an 'annual service plan').
