Undoing Bolt on Circular Saw

I've got a circular saw where a bolt holds the saw in place, but I cannot shift it. I can't remember if you have to turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise, I thought it was the reverse of a normal bolt. Any ideas how I can shift it?

Look at the blade it should have an arrow stamped on it? indicating it's rotation, the bolt will be the reverse regards to slackning.

Mine has a hole to oneside of the guard where I insert a round peg to loosen the bolt, some have a lever/button to hold the sawblade still

Generally speaking they are left hand threaded

The thread usually runs opposite to the blade rotation, so the thread tightens when the saw is used.

Thanks all, for confirming which way I should be turning it. Will have another go at the weekend.
