Underlay for lino??

Hi,

I am having lino fitted in a number of kitchens and bathrooms - reasonably high quality flats.

Is there an underlay type of thing which I can put under lino which makes the feel of the floor softer, and possibly better to lay the lino on than slightly unlevel floorboards?

Or do I spend on a thicker lino - e.g. Rhino?

The manufacurers don't recommend underlay, but I used thin foam underlay as used with laminate in our bathroom, and the result is superb. It's lovely and soft.

If you do this, be sure to glue it down. Use spray contact adhesive intended for lino use.
