Tree Protectors for car parking

May 10, 2010 8 Replies

I have two smallish trees in my front garden that is going to be block paved over. I was thinking of building a small bed around each tree with edging blocks. Now I am thinking of using tree protectors, the sort of things that you see in car parks or pedestrian areas. The idea being that 2 wheels of the car will drive over the protectors. The trouble is in the Marshall range the smallest is 1000mm x 1000mm except on that is 700mm x 700mm I did find a site called DJ Windsor I think that has a useful looking octagonal one. I am a little put off by the weight, but Marshalls to a plastic one that will take a car. I was hoping to find something a little bit smaller than

700 x 700. Are there any other suppliers out there.

ummm how do they protect the tree then?

well that was what they were listed on the Marshalls web site as. Better than cast iron thingies that go around the bottom of trees is car parks I suppose.

can't imagine these at all - gotta link so we can see?

Bloody hell. Check how much they weigh on the spec above. Mind you when I put 2 cast iron gullies in I bolted the things down and didn't rely on just the mortar.

mixed ferrous =A3160 a tonne presently I am informed by a junior pikey contact.....
