TP-LINK AV600 Powerline

My local Philosophy Group are about to start holding live meetings at one of the local Metodist Church meeting rooms, hybridised wit zoom. We tested it today. Bloody cold with all the windows open but good non-the-less.



One of our group made it possible by bringing his domestic TP-LINK TL-WPA4220 kit along. We will most definitely have to buy our own but it must be unplugged and reconnected on every visit.



(I'm getting there).



Will it hold its settings or could we just plug it in and expect it to resume its link?



Is there an alterative product that will do that?

As long as you don't let them 'mingle' with other powerline devices while away from the meeting room, I would expect them to just resume when you take them back there.

+1 As far as the device is concerned it's like a power cut, and they must be designed to handle those.

I have a number of the lower-spec AV200 units that I plug in from time-to-time. If I do nothing, they simply find each other and work but they don't make a secure connection. I'm not sure if they would still just get on with it if I paired them and then pulled them out and juggled them around.

There is a software control panel. It comes on a resource CD that comes with the kit and is probably available on line. It allows you to "see" all the Powerlines on the network and control them. If you don't already have the utility available, it might be an idea to get hold of it so that if you hit any hiccups you can sort them out on the night.

Yup, they keep their settings and will automatically reconnect to any other devices that they were paired with.

You are very lucky to find any TP link product that a human being can understand and set up at all, I've had alexa enabled wall plugs and they just are not reliable or cannot even be seen whatever app you use to associate them with your wireless hub etc. Brian
