Some of us post while waiting for the glue to dry before we do the next bit.
Anyway, posting here *is* d-i-y. It's research and decision-making which is a big part of d-i-y. If I wanted to spend 8 hours a day plastering I'd be a plasterer, not a d-i-y-er.

Some of them are too old and grumpy to do anything but talk about it now days ;'-)
Well I installed linux on a laptop, wrote an extension to gridwatch, and replaced a couple of lightbulbs over the holiday.
But that is no match for John's ever so humbling project.
On 06 Jan 2016, The Natural Philosopher grunted:
How many natural philosophers does it take to change a light bulb?
Lobster scribbled
More than one, wouldn't be DIY.
Well I did build an entire house in 2000/2003 and I am still exhausted from that.
Excuse me, I'm young and grumpy.

One to hold the bulb, and a legion to try and rotate the world?
Can I put my own vote in for middle aged and knackered?

Sounds about right. Oh! You meant DIY ...
Sorry to disappoint you, but being young you haven't earned the right to be grumpy. You'll have to settle for young and petulant.
That is even more humbling. Just wondering if John could've done it quicker ;)
Depends on the size of the house compared to the size of his table saw.
He could probably knock up a chalet bungalow for Barbie & Ken fairly quickly.

Is 61 old or middle aged? I've been practising hard for years and I can't wait to be proper old and grumpy.
I did the top half of the last house...
That was probably about 7 or 8 months work all together.
I think I will leave knocking up Barbie to Ken!
A pox on you, sir!
Happy new year to you also ;-)
