Or, how many tools can you blunt in a couple of days? The score so far:Two 10mm brad drill bits and two 10mm HSS drill bits, the narrow part of ahard-point saw, the corner of an 18mm chisel, a small axe, andcompletely dulled the cutting edge of a TCT-tipped circular saw (whichwas very old and not very sharp anyway).What has done all this damage? Have a look at:and(That's a 25mm chisel for comparison)So far I've found five pebbles embedded in the wood. I've found nails and screws in tree trunks before, but I've never heard of stones in wood. That dogwood (cornus) stump is about 300mm across; it is proving a real pain to remove.Over in the UK gardening NG, Chris Hogg suggested an angle grinder to deal with this. I also have an SDS plus with chisel bit, but I'm not sure if either of these will like green wood. Maybe I'll use an acetylene torch, or wait till it's warmer and import a couple of thousand termites.

3 minutes per stump including repositioning? Shome mishtake shurely?
