If you used a regular antenna, you wouldn't need *power* like that thing needs. There is a white wall adapter in the box, and you'll need to plug that in... somewhere.
It claims to be waterproof, but what they mean is water resistant.

With a decent passive directional antenna, you'd get a strong signal and good SNR. With this omnidirectional antenna, you get a weak signal. Amplifying it up will get you a strong signal but also amplify the noise, so you get a strong signal with poor SNR.
I wouldn't use it unless you were somewhere where a directional rooftop aerial wouldn't work, or you were sufficiently close to the transmitter for signal strength not to be a problem.

You mean it won't work under water.
One of the advertising images shows an exposed F plug without a waterproof cover, boot or self amalgamating tape. It appears that water will run down the outside of the dome and around the F connector
Looks like a snake oil product with a 5 star review picking up signals for 50 miles away.
what happens if you want to pick up a VP signal?
the reason I asked was that I just noticed one on the static caravan site here he may be trying to get Scottish tv and Belfast TV at the same time....don't think I would bother with one as we have freesat.....
