Donnie Dotaman MacLeod is back with a new series of DIY. Travelling between Glasgow and Barra, he tackles a number of interesting projects which showc ase his talents. In this episode Donnie builds two new gates for Roddy, who se old gates are falling apart. He sorts out a hall radiator which is badly in need of some TLC [1] and he begins a project in his own home which will ultimately transform the family's shower room.

All interspersed with cupsh tea and peesh cake.

Next week is plasterboarding.

It foreign.

Why did he put the hinges on the front of the gate rather than the back?

Because it opened outwards.

Owain

The space he had they would open either way.

Making the gates open outwards slows down the excisemen when they come raiding :-)

It made it look a bit amateurish as the last hole in the hinge didn't line up with a slat. It wouldn't be a problem if it was fitted to the other side and it looked like the gate would still open either way.
