Anybody had dealings with Tap2tag, either genuine or not so genuine?



I had a text from my bank earlier in the week saying they suspected a fraudulent attempt to charge my debit card with £0.00, I ignored it thinking it was spam. Today Amazon advised me a payment had been declined on the card.



Called the bank and they confirmed the text was genuine, somebody had attempted to collect £0.00 from my card so they had suspended it.



Went through the account with the bank, all seems OK but I suppose the moral is if I get a text like this I should call the bank on its normal number.

There is a special number for suspected fraud - just dial 159

You will get an option to connect to your particular bank, probably the fraud department that would have sent you the text.

Sometimes a £0 or £0.01 charge is genuine to make sure the card is valid. For instance when booking into a hotel, even when you pay up front for the room the hotel doesn't know how much extra would be charged to the room (mini bar etc.) and would verify the card.

Tap2Tag seem to have existed since 2013, but look like they use RFID to allow paramedics to retrieve medical records from someone wearing one of their tags, it doesn't look like a payment system?

I had the same thing today from my debit card!!!!! No idea what it was
