Talking of vacuum cleaners (eaarlier thread)

We have a Kirby Heritage II complete with all (the full range) of the accessories, bought many years ago and barely used. She gave up on it, because it was just too heavy for her, built like a battleship.

I had it in mind to give the carpet cleaner attachment a go, so I dragged it out from its cupboard. It seemed to make a fair job of the living room carpet. The first time it has seen daylight in 20 odd years.

These beasties cost a small fortune.

They're a notorious scam. High pressure sales, low value for money.

The only main differences between then and now is that modern ones at least attempt to trap the micro sized particles. Not sure how successful they are however as one can often smell a dustyness after you have done the cleaning even on a new cleaner. Brian
