SOT: Edge is pushing me over the edge

If you have admin rights to your machine, you can take away all access to the edge executable.

My 'Run' registry item did come back. However in Task Manager there were many Edge processes running, and in its Startup tab it listed 10 Edge processes that could run. There was a handy 'Disable' button so I clicked it and will see what happens.

It was Bing I was thinking of (not Edge). I have discovered how to disable it (apparently it cannot be removed completely). In the Registry:

Open Registry Editor: Press Win + R, type "regedit", and press Enter. Navigate to the Search key: Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search. Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value: Right-click in the right pane, select "New", and then "DWORD (32-bit) Value". Name the value: Name the new value "BingSearchEnabled". Set value: Double-click "BingSearchEnabled" and set the value to 0. Restart your computer:

Fortunately, this appears to have been successful.
