My smartmeters were fitted in July 2011, I noticed today that my IHD hasn't got gas graphs for October/November, so prodded the buttons on the gas meter and it is stone dead.
Recently Cadent replaced pipes around here, which meant they had to relocate my meter, I suggested they might like to replace the 10 year battery while doing that, they just responded "not up to us mate", but it was still sending readings after the move, on 30th September I gave EDF readings before the latest price cap change.
I suspect they won't want to send someone out with just a new battery, but would prefer to replace the both meters with SMETS2 models, if I'm going to do that I might change to Octopus. I expect "fun" changing supplier without being able to provide final/initial readings!
If I do switch to Octopus, would I need to have *their* meters in order to talk to their mini device, or will the mini speak to *any* SMETS2 comms hub?
