We have a very old Singer pattern sewing machine. I say “Singer” but it actually has “The Cinderella” written on it and a plate with “Biesolt & Locke” on it. This machine uses a “vibrating shuttle” mechanism.
Visually it’s very similar to this machine on eBay.
It’s hard to be certain about the needle holder as it’s an older cruder design than on the newer Singer and seems to lack any sort of end-stop to control the distance the needle can be inserted.
The next question is, if the needle *is* meant to have the hole “front and back”, in what direction should it be threaded up?
Not sure why I’m bothering really as threading the needle involves strong light, a strong magnifying glass, a steady hand and much swearing. ;-)
