Sealing a bath up against tiles

What is the best technique for creating a good watertight seal between the bath edge and the tiles, I have seen some right botch jobs in my time, whats the best sealant on the market and how best to apply it.

Thanks Richard.

In my opinion, by far the best way is to install the bath against the wall

*before* tiling, and then tile down to it. You can, of course, fit all but the lowest row of tiles - held up by a temporary batten - before installing the bath, and then cut the bottom tiles to extend down to the bath *with the bath full of water*. Then finish off with a bead of good quality silicone sealant.
