Schuko adapter plug

I have looked at this again. If the screw looks like a normal screw, can I assume that it is? It won't break or anything if I try to undo it?

If the adaptor had a built-in fuse (likely) then there would be a need for access to replace it.

It's all sorted - a completely false prospectus on my part. The screws come out with a standard electrical screwdriver. It was just that I Googled first and found references to non-removable screws and I thought there might be some regulation that the adapter needs to be fixed permanently.

The moral of the tale - '(Only) when all else fails, read the instructions'.

I remember buying a number of cheap adaptors off CPC. They had an option for a version with non-returnable screws. Presumably to stop people nicking them if used in offices (well, one reason anyway).

Only issue with that adaptor and other similar ones I have seen is the lack of earth so only suitable for double insulated appliances which Scott?s coffee machine probably is. However, you will not be able to use it for anything Class 1.

They do an earthed version, though the photo doesn't clearly show the earth contact, maybe the cable comes out the top rather than bottom?

Um, this one shows a connection to the earth on the Schuko plug.
