Samba Mobile

It looks as if Samba have taken the money earned by its customers watching ads and run with the profits.

From that article, it seems like they suffered the same fate as Ovivo did a couple of months ago... the companies higher up the food chain deciding to stifle the competition.

As long as you're dependent on the old guard's largesse to get your foot in the door, I don't see how anyone can think the market is anything but rigged.

Brian Gaff pretended :

Basically, the deal was you watched ads to gain data use credit via 3. The more you watched, the more credit you built up and they got paid for each ad you watched. You could also buy data credit.

Without any prior warning yesterday they simply closed the operation down and all accumulated data credit is gone, leaving its customer high and dry.

They are refunding those who very recently bought sims or paid for data credit, but all those who built up credit over the months via ads or purchased, looses the lot.

Reading between the lines, they had no money to pay 3 for bought or earned data credit, so 3 shut it down.

Oh dear.

Sounds like a proper dot-bomb outfit. How did anyone ever think that was going to work?
