Salford car on tracks

On motorways, where vehicles are travelling at speed and have lots of energy. This appears to be (just) off the motorway, and there was a concrete barrier. There are too many bridges to beef them up to deal with people doing 100mph in a 40 zone.

A tribute to the safety of modern cars. Through a wall at speed, then a drop to the tracks and landing upside down. Driver had minor injuries as far as I can tell.

The bridge the car crashed through is a footbridge - it's unlikely anyone would consider vehicles hitting it a significant risk as there's no road access to it. Plus the car hit it pretty much square on - barriers are designed to deflect vehicles leaving the road at an angle back onto the road, not resist a direct impact.

I seems to have vaulted a low section of Armco, flown through the metal sections of a wall on one side of that footbridge, and then bashed (as you say) straight into the wall on the other side of the footbridge ...

As they say in the US, and semi-confirmed by the reports: "Alcohol may have been involved".

Judging by the way the roof of the car had caved in, I'm amazed that he got away with just 'minor' injuries.
