Roof Tiles: Has anyone heard reason before

The saga of my new house and problems continues. I pointed out to the developer that I was not happy with the fact that some of my roof tiles were warped. Mine was the last house to be built and I think they built it with left over materials. Every other house has pristine flat smooth tiles, except mine. Just to give you an idea this is a picture of a couple of the tiles

is the reply I have received from the developer:

" I have been advised that as the tiles are a fabricated roof tile they can naturally warp with the change in temperature between hot and cold. This is natural."

Now we are talking about a house that is brand spanking new, and while we have had a wet summer I don't recall too many extremes of temperature in the last 2 months, far from it in fact. However, as my house is slap bang next to the other houses that do not have this problem I am even more adamant this is just a rubbish excuse. I have asked for the name of the tile manufacturer so I can contact them myself, but I would be interested in what other more experienced folk think about this?

I think they used up the crap on your house.

Try contacting the building inspector. My guess is that the house should not have been passed.

It's bollox. Most of the houses round here have replacement artificial slate roofs and non look like that. Mine is about 25 years old.

How the hell did that get past building control? I wouldn't accept that.

They look similar to the tiles on my roof - so that may be Marley fiber cement tiles.

======================================== I think they're more likely to be vinyl roofing tiles like these:

('Eternit') fibre cement tiles are very stable and not prone to warping.

The response is a joke. But if the roof meets the purchase contract, BR, and is fit for purpose then I dont see you having any comeback. So I'd contact the tile mfr to see if the roof will perform fully to spec in this state - if not it looks like you've got a valid claim.
